Camp Lau-Ren Goes Virtual for 2020
Camp Lau-Ren has made the very difficult decision to not open Camp this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we do want to keep our campers, staff and volunteers connected to Camp. We have hired a summer student to organize and run some virtual programming over the summer to keep everyone connected. Please stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
A Camp of the United Church of Canada
Camp Lau-Ren — a summer camp for children aged 6-16 — provides a Christian experience in an outdoor setting. We are located on the Ottawa River, 10 kilometers west of Deep River, off Highway #17, on Lau-Ren Road. Camp Lau-Ren is fully accredited by the United Church of Canada and the Ontario Camps Association.
We offer two-night/3 day or six-night/6 day residential camps as well as leadership camps for senior campers. All our camps are co-ed, with the exception of a girls camp for 8 – 12 year olds. Canoeing, archery, swimming, life study, crafts, sports, campfires are a few of the popular activities that take place during the week. We offer a rustic camp experience. We do not have camper showers, however, campers go swimming several times each day and can wash their hair as often as they want. We have launched a fundraising campaign to construct camper showers – join us in reaching our goal (see “Fundraising” tab under “Donate”).
All children are welcome. Subsidies are available for children who need financial assistance to attend our camp. More information can be obtained by emailing our Executive Directors at firstname.lastname@example.org
