Your Camp Experience Starts in ...

Campers attending Camp Lau-Ren this summer do not need to be vaccinated for COVID-19.

The Ontario Ministry has lifted all protocols for overnight camps with respect to COVID-19 and our direction is that recreational camps will operate as per the current legislation under the Health Protection and Promotion Act. After a thorough review, including consideration that children do not have to be vaccinated to attend school, the Camp Lau-Ren Board of Directors has decided to remove the requirement that all campers be vaccinated to attend our camp in 2022.  We will continue to collect vaccination status during the registration process (to only be used in the event that legislation changes) and we will continue to proceed with several protocols being put in place for this summer, e.g., screening, increased sanitizing and procedures if a camper develops COVID while at camp. Although restrictions have been lifted by the Ministry, campers are still welcome to wear a mask at camp if they wish. Campers should bring several masks to camp and additional masks will be made available for campers.

As an added precaution, Camp Lau-Ren will be rapid testing all campers and staff at check in on Sundays.  Staff will be available to help campers and parents administer the rapid test on arrival at camp.

Camp Lau-Ren will be open in 2022 after being closed for two years. Even though we were closed,

we still had to pay expenses such as taxes and hydro.

Please consider making a donation to help us re-open this year.

A Camp of the United Church of Canada

Camp Lau-Ren provides a Christian experience in an outdoor setting. We are located on the Ottawa River, 10 kilometers west of Deep River, off Highway #17, on Lau-Ren Road.  Camp Lau-Ren is fully accredited by the United Church of Canada and the Ontario Camps Association.

We provide residential six-day camps and one three-day Tadpole Camp for 6 – 8 year olds.  Our Leaders-in-Training camp runs alongside the Senior Camp and registration is limited.  We offer one all-girls camp and the remainder are co-ed. Children enjoy canoeing, paddle boarding, archery, swimming, life study, crafts, sports, campfires and so much more.

All children are welcome. Subsidies are available for children who need financial assistance to attend our camp. More information can be obtained by emailing our Executive Directors at
